one stop solution to outdoor living

Your one stop solution to outdoor living with OUTASHADE

Are you thinking of transforming your garden in 2022? The summer months will soon be here so there’s never been a better time to make sure your outdoor space is the best it can be.

However, redesigning your garden can be a daunting prospect, which is why OUTASHADE have launched full garden design packages to help revamp your home this Spring.

To guarantee a full and comprehensive service the team at OUTASHADE have taken on an experienced landscape designer to take your project all the way from concept to completion.

Whether you’re looking for a full renovation or an installation of a brand new pergola system, the team now has all of the capabilities to make your dream a reality.

SWM spoke to Jamie Skinner, founder and owner of OUTASHADE, to discuss all things garden design and gain an insight into the process and key considerations.

“The service that we offer is a fully bespoke garden design package,” says Jamie. “We will do a full survey of the garden and create mood boards to help with inspiration, followed by a full breakdown of all aspects of the garden including swimming pools, garden rooms, plants and hard landscaping.

“Tony is our garden design specialist; he’s won the People’s Choice Best Show Garden and is a gold medallist with BBC Gardener’s World.

“Having spent the last 15 years in the industry, we’ve been pushing the limits of design capabilities with popular garden pergola systems, external garden rooms, shading and outdoor kitchens.

“We also have a team of project managers and hard landscapers that support all of the work that the OUTASHADE team does.”

In a survey conducted during the first lockdown, millennials were found to be spending twice as much on their gardens compared to the rest of the population.

The introduction of lockdowns and restrictions on movement has offered a new perspective on living and now more than ever, the garden has become a real focal point of any luxury property.

However, there is a lot to consider when it comes to garden and landscape design; accessibility, lighting, infrastructure, and the way you intend to use the space, to name a few…

This is where Jamie and his team come in. They’ll manage the whole process for you from start to finish to create a garden that is exactly as you’d imagined.

“We would start with an initial discussion over the phone or in person depending on what the client prefers,” says Jamie. “We would then provide a quote for the design work post discussions.

“The next stage would be putting an ideas board together and once that’s agreed, we would work on some designs to present to the client.

“Once the designs have been agreed we would then proceed with a presentation plan including how we will source the materials and the finer details such as irrigation, lighting, and structural plans etc.

“With every garden design package we include 2D and 3D concepts and walk around videos, as well as plant sourcing, maintenance plans for local gardeners, irrigation systems, lighting plans and all product and material sourcing; including furniture, bespoke solutions, and structural plans for garden buildings and outdoor kitchens.”

Brexit and the pandemic have had considerable implications for businesses across the UK, including the importation of goods from Europe and further afield.

As a result, lead times are longer and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to work to tight deadlines, so it’s more important than ever to discuss your project with OUTASHADE as soon as possible.

Jamie and his team pride themselves on working efficiently and with the client in mind. With over 25 years’ experience in the industry, they’ll be able to work with you to ensure your project is delivered in a timely manner.

“Depending on the products that are required we have varying timeframes,” says Jamie. “We always work time efficiently.

“If certain products can be ordered early to avoid some of the lead time without affecting the project, they will be.

“Realistically, 2-4 weeks would cover most of the basic redesign work, but depending on the complexity of the job things can take a lot longer if planning applications are required.

“We are currently working on 14 weeks with our Pergola systems, six weeks for outdoor kitchens and six weeks for our awning systems.”

Every project OUTASHADE undertakes is distinctive and unique in design; offering the best in class in every aspect of their services and product range.

They design outdoor spaces that are fully functional all year round and relative to you, your family, and the way you live.
