Spring is Coming!

Spring in Spain starts on 20th March ending on 21st June. Many people would agree that this is the best season for visiting Spain. The sun is almost always out and every day there are more hours of sunshine to enjoy outdoor living and evenings on the terraces.
After the UK government announced last Monday a roadmap to ease lockdown restrictions which included that from May 17th restrictions on international travel are set to be lifted the President of the Valencian Hotel Association said last Wednesday 24th February that the tourism sector in our Valencian Community (Comunidad Valenciana) received more bookings from British holidaymakers than “in the history of tourism”! This is testament to the popularity of our Region and the demand to buy property here is on the rise again.
In a recent article*, property experts are confident that economic and real estate recovery in Spain will begin in the summer and we will not see big falls in house prices. In fact, this recovery brings stability in new homes and developments, and even price rises. The Spanish coasts are the enclave of many European retirees “and these destinations have no competition considering the legal security and infrastructures that Spain has. For this reason, the property experts believe the first thing that will recover in the Spanish real estate sector will be second homes located on the coast”. So is 2021 a good time to invest in property here on the Costa Blanca North well according to the figures if you look at property price changes in Spain compared to 2020 properties in the Valencian Community are up 2.7%.
