Launched in August 2022, Soneva Jani’s new Den is an awe-inspiring two-storey playground for the imagination. Inspired by childhood wonder and covering more than 1,500sqm, it’s now one of the largest children’s clubs in the Maldives and is packed with exciting, one-of-a-kind activities and experiences for young travellers. From morning until nightfall, children can glide through the cascading waterfall on a zipline, plunge into the vast pool from the curving waterslide, or show off their skills in the games room. Teens will also find a hidden hangout behind a waterfall, where music and mocktails set the scene.

From bioluminescent flooring to hidden infographics on the walls, The Den is ripe for discovery. Hop along the musical piano steps to create your own music, explore global oceanic themes in a 4D perspective, identify the fish that matches your height with the fish ruler, or talk like a fish with Tale of the Whale. A bowling alley, Lego and craft area, dressing up room and library provide space for books, fantasies and more. There’s also a quiet sensory area for toddlers, a cinema for movie nights and a child-friendly kitchen for cooking classes. Upstairs, a dedicated roof deck for teens is complete with a music room, telescope deck, pool and foosball tables, pinball machines, table tennis set above a reflecting pond, as well as a dry slide for speedy escapes.

A haven for families, The Den’s weekly programmes of complimentary experiences are tailored to both young children and teens. While parents enjoy some me-time, Soneva Jani’s experienced childminders are on hand to watch over your children’s every move.

In addition to the weekly programme at The Den, the resort’s ever-changing Soneva Stars calendar welcomes a diverse array of visiting experts offering fun family activities. Over the next few months, fitness experts including Joe Wicks, Ben Cohen and Kristina Rihanoff will be conducting workshops and training sessions. Younger guests can also make a splash with Olympic Swedish swimmer Therese Alshammar, while former professional tennis player Agnieszka Radwanska will be coaching a series of tennis camps. A series of football camps for children of all ages will be hosted by returning soccer legends, including Mikael Silvestre and Ibraham ‘Ibou’ Ba.
